Life in a fishbowl

What would it be like to teach in a transparent environment where the walls seem non existent? What would it feel like to unleash ourselves from limiting constraints? Do we, as educators, see the "finish line" as getting our students to college or through college and beyond?

  1. Our trip to HTH has caused me to spend a lot of time reflecting on how we can best prepare the students of W-SR to be ready for the "real" 21st century work world. They need to be deep thinkers, self-starters, and flexible problem solvers. We saw this happening at HTH. I believe that we have the opportunity with our great staff and students at W-SR, to do some things even better than High Tech High. The questions is: are our staff, students and parents ready to accept the challenge to do things differently than we have done them before?

    1. Right on, Ken! I had the same feeling. We can do this...better!

  2. This is really awesome! I have shared some of these ideas with the anatomy students and they think it is neat. The only concern they have is the buy in factor for the students, but I am not to worried if they see that other classes are doing it then they should be comfortable to do it in your classroom! I am interested to hear about the other schools that are not as known like HTH!

  3. Sarah and WSR anatomy students! I am so glad you are following our journey! You just finished studying blood. Check out the blood project on The HTH site under projects. There were a multitude of incredible projects that I saw...too many to document with justice. I was inspired by their work and know at together we can develop exceptional work in a project based setting that will also inspire you to be even more exceptional than you already are!
